Pests can be really pestering! These little creatures can create a big havoc in your house. Here are a few home pest control solutions that are easy to find and use, as well as inexpensive as they use natural ingredients:

  • Mosquitoes: Like humans, mosquitoes, too are not fond of the smell of onions! So, you may rub them all over your exposed parts to keep them away.

To avoid mosquito bites, avoid wearing damp clothes, especially blue coloured clothes.

Another easy way to throw out mosquitoes from your house is to vacuum them! Yes, you heard it right. Whenever you spot mosquitoes on your walls or windows at night, simply suck them away with the help of your vacuum hose!

Plant Basil and other herb plants like Tansy near the entrance of your house, like doors and windows. Mosquitoes are repelled by the smell of these herbs. You can keep the mosquitoes away and also use your garden fresh herbs for cooking!

In the rainy season, pour a little cooking oil on the surface of stranded water to keep mosquitoes from breeding near your house.

  • Meal Worms: Meal worms are usually found in starchy food items like flour and spaghetti. Place few fresh mint leaves in the affected areas or in the storage boxes, or you can also place a mint chewing gum.

  • Moths: The momentary solution for getting rid of moths is to darken the room and light a bright light in one corner of the room. Moths get attracted to the light and will fly to its source, leaving you at peace!

As a long term solution, hang sachets of Cedar wood chips in the areas usually frequented by moths. You can also wrap few cloves in pieces of cheese cloth and place these bundles in closet or in your clothes pockets, to keep moths away.

Use these easy do it yourself pest control solutions and see the difference!
